On April 16, 2018, starting at 11:13 AM EDT, the Listings Overview page in our Customer Portal was either extremely slow to load, or unable to show summary modules. Customer portal overall also showed increased latencies. Engineering noticed the issues within minutes and began mitigation steps. The issue subsided at 11:48 AM EDT and service returned to normal. Listings delivery was not affected.
An elevated load in the Listing Overview page caused multiplicative asynchronous connections to the backend server. The server consequently throttled the connections from Listings Overview, causing requests to fail. Listings overview has subsequently been updated to handle increased load.
