Starting at 11:58 p.m. US Eastern Time on August 22, the Page Builder functionality in the Pages section of the Customer Portal was unavailable. Updates to live sites created with Page Builder were also paused. Customer Portal functionality was restored at 7:50 a.m. on August 23, and missed updates from during the outage were applied soon thereafter.
The serving of sites built with Page Builder to consumers was unaffected.
A service required by the Page Builder crashed because of a bug in some infrequently used functionality. Additionally, the manner of this crash caused this service to escape the self-healing processes that usually recover from such situations automatically.
In addition to fixing the uncovered bug, we are also making this service less likely to escape the usual self-healing processes and increasing the visibility of alerts fired when the self-healing process fails.
