Summary

Between 2:10AM ET and 7:03AM ET on Monday, April 8, 2024, there were elevated error rates in the Listings and Reviews Portals, as well as some of the Management APIs. There were additional errors between 7:00AM ET and 7:40AM ET on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Root Cause

Google introduced a bug that caused them to erroneously block a subset of Yext’s calls to the Google Business Profile API. Interactions in the Listings and Reviews Portals and associated APIs that involved synchronous communication with Google then failed, leading to user-facing errors.

Remediation

The Yext team escalated this issue to Google and they have assured us that the offending bug has been fixed. We will be improving how we handle errors from third-party APIs in the platform as well as our alerting for similar issues going forward.

Monitoring
We are aware of elevated error rates in the Listings and Reviews portals from 3am-7:30am this morning. Service in both portals has been restored and we are continuing to monitor the results.
