Summary

Between 2:44pm ET and 3:03pm ET on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, there were elevated error rates in the Yext Customer Portal and Management APIs.

Root Cause

A routine database operation unexpectedly caused resource contention, which led to the inability to complete some external requests.

Remediation

The offending database operation was quickly identified and canceled, immediately restoring the system to normal functioning. Additional process controls will be put into place to ensure that database operations of this nature are conducted at times and/or via methods that minimize impact to unrelated database workloads.
