Delays in Pages Generation
Incident Report for Yext
Postmortem

Summary

Starting on Wednesday September 15th, 2021 at 2:50 p.m. ET, Pages sites experienced delays in publishing content. These delays continued to 4:47 p.m. ET the same day. All affected updates were completed by this time, and no data was lost.

Root Cause

An operation conducted as part of a migration to new publishing infrastructure resulted in an increase in load that overloaded the publishing system. This operation was stopped once the higher load was detected.

Remediation

We plan to review and update our publishing infrastructure to better handle load of the nature that was observed during this incident. We will also be isolating the new publishing infrastructure to reduce the likelihood it will affect the existing infrastructure during migration.
