On January 7th, 2020, beginning at 12:58 p.m. ET, the Reviews portion of our Customer Portal began experiencing degradations. Reviews were unavailable for viewing at this time. Yext engineers restored service at 1:19 p.m. ET. No data was lost during this incident.
One of the backend services which serves Reviews data ran out of resources due to a long running query, and became unable to serve requests. Stopping the offending query and restarting the server restored the service.
The root cause for this incident is shared for the recent incidents involving the Reviews platform (1/6/2020, 12/20/2019, 12/10/2020). As such, we have deprioritized new feature development for the Reviews platform and are actively working to optimize long running queries and improve capacity in the Reviews platform backend.
